More Than Words on a Wall
PURPOSE THAT GUIDES ACTION
Mission and vision give a community more than an identity. Together, they provide a shared compass for decisions, priorities, learning, leadership, and the future. When the language is authentic, memorable, and widely understood, it helps people determine what belongs, what needs to change, and what promises must be kept.
Two Roads Education brings students, educators, families, leaders, and board members into a highly participatory process. The goal is shared meaning and ownership, with every voice helping shape a direction the community can understand, remember, and use.
Students as Co-Creators
Students play a central role. They interpret emerging ideas, test whether the language resonates, and create visual identities, graphics, banners, and presentations that bring the mission and vision to life. Their agency transforms the process from an adult planning exercise into a genuine expression of the entire community’s purpose.

The Process
Two Roads Education guides an inclusive, community-wide process that turns shared stories, values, and aspirations into a clear, memorable mission and vision people can understand, use, and bring to life.
1. Listen
Gather stories, perspectives, aspirations, and priorities from across the community.
2. Discover
Identify shared values, distinctive strengths, and future possibilities.
3. Define
Co-create memorable mission and vision language that provides direction.
4. Design
Invite students to translate the words into a meaningful visual identity.
5. Activate
Connect the mission and vision to decisions, learning, culture, and strategic action.
